Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Overview
This policy applies to all Chrome browser extensions published by John McAlpin. These extensions are built as productivity tools and are designed with a strict principle: your data stays on your device. No user data is collected, stored, or transmitted to any external server.
What data the extensions access
When you trigger an extension's action (for example, clicking "Extract Markdown"), the extension reads content from the webpage you are currently viewing in order to perform its stated function in your browser. This access is:
- Temporary — content is processed in memory only for the duration of that action
- Local — all processing happens entirely within your browser
- User-initiated — extensions take no action unless you explicitly trigger them
What data is collected and stored
None. These extensions do not collect, log, store, or retain any personal information, browsing history, page content, or usage data — either locally or on any server.
Data sharing
No user data is shared with any third party. These extensions do not include analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or any other service that transmits data externally.
Permissions
Extensions request only the permissions necessary for their stated function. Each permission is documented in the Chrome Web Store listing. No permission is used for any purpose beyond what is described.
Children's privacy
These extensions do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of an extension after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
